SMS & Conversations
Send and receive text messages through your tracking numbers with full conversation tracking.
Overview
CallScaler lets you send and receive text messages (SMS) through your tracking numbers. Every conversation is tracked and accessible from the Conversations page in your sidebar. This makes it easy to follow up with leads via text.
Sending Messages
Navigate to Conversations in the sidebar. To start a new conversation, click "New Message" and enter the recipient's phone number. Choose which tracking number to send from (the message will appear to come from that number). Type your message and hit send.
Receiving Messages
Incoming text messages to any of your tracking numbers appear automatically in the Conversations tab. Messages are grouped by contact (phone number) for easy management. You'll see a notification badge when new messages arrive.
SMS Pricing
Text messaging costs vary by direction and length:
- •Outbound SMS: $0.01 per message segment
- •Inbound SMS: Free
- •Messages longer than 160 characters are split into multiple segments
- •MMS (picture messages) cost more per segment
Important: 10DLC Registration
US carriers now require 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) registration for business text messaging. Without registration, your messages may be filtered or blocked by carriers. See the 10DLC Registration guide for setup instructions.
Unregistered numbers will have severely limited SMS throughput and may have messages silently dropped by carriers. Register your brand and campaign before sending bulk SMS.
